About

This is my blog(Joshua Bailey) I thoroughly enjoy using parentheses and dotdots, ie. “..”

Life is serious and I am on a journey just like everyone else. I often find myself wondering about the perplexities of existence and it leads to a feeling that I’m wandering through life..the word wander can be seen as a negative connotation, but not enough people wo(a)nder(now you know the reasoning behind the word). Life, God(or at least the idea of a single diety), future, people, death, and most major things that dominate our thoughts are all somehow mysteriously connected..

I will ramble and have some funny posts about my life and sometimes I’ll have something serious to say, but all in all I hope that what you read from me is worth your time..not a biased indoctrinated opinion. I don’t know everything, but I sure wish I did. I want to love more and help other sojourners.. not because they need my help but because we all need each other and we can all help each other pick up the pieces of a broken existence and put it together again. I believe Jesus saves, but not in the way we all commonly think. I shy away from the language of christianity because it tends to alienate(even me haha) people that aren’t “in”..The big subject is relevance to culture. It’s disheartening that we have to try and make ourselves relevant. It shows how long we’ve actually been disconnected from humanity..Relevance to culture should not have to be intentional or the new christian agenda. It should be organically evident in our relationships with the people we surround ourselves with, but sadly the christian world surrounds itself with only like people that disagree on minor issues and we end up mistreating everyone out of a self-righeous pride that we are right and they are not. If we have this attitude towards the people that claim to know the same God we know, then our attitude towards people who believe differently is much less than to be desired. This is evident in the hostility towards atheists, muslims, homesexuals and any other person who does not adhere strictly to our systematic religion..our problem is not that we are too closed minded, but that we are just too afraid we might have to live without the comfort of our religion..We can learn to love and we can fight for love, but our love has long been too limited to our circle of friends and “believers”..Jesus came to discard this very thing. Love confined is no love at all

I hope no matter what you believe that you’ll not be offended by what I say. I’m trying to figure this out. I read the scriptures and it gives me insight but it leaves much to be sought out. Maybe he intended it that way..it would be way to easy and less valuable if it didn’t cost something and if it didn’t take a little pain..life is worth it. Love is worth it. He is worth it. You are worth it…
